Why some ETH casinos wait longer before crediting your deposit

The first time I deposited ether at two different casinos on the same evening, the difference surprised me. At the first site, my balance appeared about a minute after the transaction showed as successful in my wallet. At the second, I sat staring at "pending" for what felt like a long time, even though the transaction was clearly confirmed on Etherscan.

It turned out both casinos were working as designed. They simply required a different number of block confirmations before crediting a deposit.

Each new block added on top of the one containing your transaction makes it harder to reverse. On Ethereum, a transaction is considered final after a certain point, and many services wait for a set number of blocks before treating incoming funds as safe. One casino might credit after a handful of confirmations, another after dozens. Neither is broken. They have just made different choices about risk.

Since then I check a few things before using a new ETH casino.

I look for the confirmation requirement in the cashier or the help pages. Good sites state it plainly for each coin and network, often along with the minimum deposit. If I cannot find it, I ask live chat before sending anything.

I consider the network. Deposits on a layer-2 network or a sidechain may follow different rules from mainnet ones, and some casinos credit layer-2 deposits faster. I always double-check the network label in the cashier, since sending on the wrong one is a far bigger problem than a slow credit.

I match the deposit to the session. If I am about to play a live blackjack table that starts in a few minutes, I use a casino where I know the credit is quick, or I fund my balance earlier in the day.

I also treat a confirmed transaction that has not been credited as a support issue only after the stated number of confirmations has passed. Contacting support too early just gets me a template reply.

When I first went looking for casinos that handle ETH well, an Ethereum casino comparison helped me narrow the field, and I liked that some reviews mentioned deposit crediting times. I then made a small test deposit at each one and noted how long it took on a normal weekday evening.

A slower credit doesn't bother me much. I care more that the casino tells me the rule in advance, follows it consistently, and credits on time when the confirmations are in.
